Bacillus Records is a German record label established in 1971 by producer Peter Haucke. Bacillus releases were originally distributed by Philips, but when none of the albums sold well enough to support the label financially, Haucke was forced to sell Bacillus to Frankfurt-based Bellaphon Records in 1972.
Bellaphon turned Bacillus into one of the leading German rock labels with a strong focus on progressive rock and so-called 'Krautrock' with bands as Krokodil, Nektar, Dzyan and King Ping Meh.
