Sphere Sound Records was launched in 1965 as a subsidiary of Bell Records in the United States. The label was set up to reissue or recompile older material, usually blues or gospel, which was licensed from labels as Fire, Fury or Herald. Sphere Sound was active until 1970, but most of its albums were released in 1965 and 1966.
