Fire Records was an American blues label, set up in 1959 by producer Bobby Robinson. Robinson also founded or co-founded Red Robin Records, Whirlin' Disc Records, Fury Records and Enjoy Records. Amongst the artists released on Fire were Lightnin' Hopkins, Elmore James and Arthur Crudup. Fire Records' final album was released in 1962.
Fire Records (UK) is a British indie label, founded by Clive Solomon in 1986 and released early records from Pulp, Spacemen 3, Blue Aeroplanes, and others. We don't cover this one here in the label guide as most of its releases had custom labels, and the more successful albums have been reprinted several times. The label is still active today.
