Trailer Records was a British folk label, founded in 1969 by recording engineer and producer Bill Leader. Leader played an important role in the British folk scene since the early 1960s, when he worked for Transatlantic Records and produced records by Davey Graham, Bert Jansch, John Renbourn and others. In 1969, together with his second wife, Helen, he set up two record labels, Leader Records for traditional folk, and Trailer focused on the Folk Revival scene.
The Trailer and Leader labels were operated as sister labels with one set of consecutive catalog numbers: a label prefix (LEA/LER), followed by a price code (2/3/4) and the actual number attached. Both labels were active from 1969 to 1977.
