Red Coach Records was founded by songwriter and producer Gene Redd Jr. in 1972. Redd was active in music production since the early 1960s and founded several record labels before Red Coach, including Redd Records, Stephanye Records, and most famously De-Lite Records. Red Coach was initially distributed by Chess Records and the only band to ever release an album on the label were The Everyday People. Red Coach continued to release singles until 1975.
