Label Guide: Immediate
Immediate Records was a British record label, started in 1965 by The Rolling Stones' manager Andrew Oldham and Tony Calder and concentrating on the London-based blues and R&B scene. Immediate releases were distributed by Philips until 1967, then by EMI until the label's demise in 1970, when it had to cease operations due to financial problems.

The earliest album releases have been distributed by Philips which is noted at the bottom rim of the label.

second Immediate label (1967 - 1969)
The first EMI-distributed releases are white with 'SOLD IN U.K. SUBJECT TO RESALE PRICE CONDITIONS. SEE PRICE LISTS' printed on the label. As far as we can tell, there is no clear break between this second and third label version, as the 'resale price conditions' text was faded out by EMI in the late 1960s.

The white label of the early years was replaced by the better-known pink label in 1968. This is an example of what should be one of the last white label original releases, here a mono pressing.
