Label Guide: Futura

Futura Records is a French jazz label, founded in 1969 by Gérard Terronès, who headed a Parisian jazz club at the time. It had several sub labels: Marge, Blue Marge, Marge Hote, Improvisation and Jazz Unite. While Futura focused on French and European jazz, the Marge labels were set up for American contemporary jazz artists.

In 1966, Terronès merged all the sub labels under the roof of Disques Futura et Marge. This label is still active today.
