Cinevox (officially: Cinevox Record) is an Italian record label specializing in the release of motion picture soundtrack albums. The label was founded in 1960 by music publisher Gruppo Editoriale Bixio and run by the two sons of Cesare Andrea Bixio, Franco and Carlo. The first album was released in 1966 and distribution was handled by Dischi Ricordi until the 1980s. The label is still active today.
Cinevox is one of the most important labels in film music history with more than 200 releases ranging from Beat to Lounge Music, from Jazz to Progressive Rock, including albums by famous composers such as Ennio Morricone, Piero Piccioni, Piero Umiliani, Armando Trovajoli, Giorgio Gaslini, Nino Rota, Riz Ortolani, Keith Emerson, Goblin, or Pino Donaggio.
Cinevox's catalogue is split into several album series, led by MDF (Musiche da Film) with minor series like CJ for Jazz and CAB for Cabaret, among others. Many of the cult soundtracks released by Cinevox until the mid-1970s are now difficult to find in good condition and command high prices on the collector's market.
