Label Guide: Nautilus

Nautilus Recordings was an audiophile record label, founded in 1976 in Shell Beach, California. It was one of the original pioneers in digital recording and was the first company to record and release a digitally recorded album in the world. Nautilus trademarked the concept of a "Superdisc" and also recorded and released direct-to-disc and half-speed master recordings. Nautilus closed down in 1984.
