Golden Hour was a 1970s budget-priced line from Pye Records, based on the - frankly pretty stupid - idea to cram a full hour of music on a single vinyl record. The result was a cheap record with roughly sixty minutes of music but abysmal sound quality. Those Golden Hour albums have no collector's value today and are only useful for completists.
The first Golden Hour LP is a Kinks compilation released for Christmas 1971. Dozens of others followed throughout the decade until the parent label Pye was discontinued in 1979.
