Global Records was a German record label, started in 1970 by producer Peter Kirsten in Munich. It was born out of Kirsten's music publishing house, Global Musikverlag, founded in 1967. Most of Global's roster were German language artists, but the label had several interesting progressive rock, jazz rock and krautrock bands under contract.
Global was first distributed by Phonogram from 1970 to early 1972, then changed to Intercord until 1974 when the label stopped releasing new material. Kirsten sold his Global Musikverlag to Chrysalis in 1999, but the business is still in operation today.
