Gee Records was one of the many records labels, founded by George Goldner (see Cotique for details). Gee was formed as a subsidiary to Tico Records in 1953 to honor the million selling hit song "Gee" by The Crows. In 1955 Goldner sold 50% of Gee to Joe Kolsky who was a business partner of Morris Levy. When Kolsky and Goldner started Roulette Records in 1957 with Levy as president, Goldner sold his remaining interest in Gee to the Morris Levy.
Gee Records was initially discontinued, but then reactivated as a division of Roulette Records in early April 1961. Roulette reprinted some older Gee titles, but only three new albums were released before Gee Records was closed for good in 1963.
